Job Purpose | Manage and control the delivery and implementation of skills development projects by providing a centralized project management service across all technical disciplines to ensure timeous implementation of projects in accordance with the National Skills Development Strategy and Integrated Development Plan duties/tasks. This post reports to SENIOR MANAGER (OUTREACH) |
Key Responsibility Areas | Conceptualise and initiate various projects as per the need of the EThekwini Municipal Area. Establish project goals and objectives in consultation with the Senior Manager Outreach, and stakeholders. Manage, control and review detailed project plans. Monitor project plans, track and adjust project activities, develop evaluation criteria and document and communicate the effectiveness of project plans, proposals and or project activities upon their completion. Analyse the effectiveness of operations within the Department. Manage and track expenditure to budget/ forecast and review and revise expense allocations. Assume responsibility for project procurement management. Manage and monitor subordinates progress and quality of service. Monitor customer service indices and conformance with affirmative action and employment equity commitments. Interpret and enforce safety and security of staff and stakeholders involved in projects. |

Essential Requirements | Diploma (NQF Level 6) in any of the following fields Public Management or Public Policy and Administration or Public Administration. National Certificate Occupationally Directed Education Training and Development Practices (OD-ETDP) (NQF Level 5) or certificate in Education Training and Development Practices (NQF Level 5). Project Management Certificate. Valid motor vehicle driving license. 4 years relevant experience working in a project management, learning and development environment. |
Preferred Requirements | Degree (NQF Level 7) in any of the following fields Community Development or Public Management or Public Policy and Administration or Public Administration. National Certificate Occupationally Directed Education Training and Development Practices (OD-ETDP) (NQF Level 5) or certificate in Education Training and Development Practices (NQF Level 5). Project Management Certificate. Valid motor vehicle driving license. 5 years relevant experience working in a project management, learning and development environment. |
