The Manufacturing, Engineering and Related Services Sector Education and Training Authority
(merSETA,) is a Schedule 3A public entity established in terms of the Skills Development Act
(Act No. 97 of 1998) Registration Number 17/merSETA, /01/04/20 to facilitate skills
development for the Metal and Engineering, Motor Retail and Components Manufacturing,
Automobile Manufacturing, Plastics Manufacturing and New Tyre Manufacturing Sectors
Automotive Components Manufacturing Chamber.

Administrator: Grants Implementation

Salary Level : R28 039,77 pm
FIXED-TERM CONTRACT UNTIL 31 MARCH 2027
Head Office

Purpose: The purpose of this position is to provide efficient and effective administration support in the Grants Management Unit.

Key Responsibilities
The ideal candidate should be able to fulfill and perform the following key responsibilities:

  • Liaise with internal stakeholders on payments, processes and procedures regarding the grants
    disbursement process to ensure the relevant region is always informed
  • Update DG/Project Contract Information and Project Performance on Commitment Register on the
    Systems
  • Communicate timely updates regarding project timelines to regional offices for them to align project
    service delivery
  • Prepare RFI documents for internal and external audits ensuring correct and comprehensive
    submission
  • Upload project documents such as MoA’s and payment evidence on TPIMS and SharePoint
  • Collate financial documents for review and approvals
  • Prepare memos and MoA Addendums for change requests and submit for review to direct report
  • Timely and efficiently prepare payment requisition packs for discretionary grants claims ensuring
    alignment with policies and procedures
  • Verify figures in the payment requisition packs and ensure that evidence is in line with internal
    grant management processes
  • Submit payment requisition packs to direct report for review and approval
  • Capture discretionary grants claims on the tracking register ensuring that the register is always up
    to date

Qualifications and Experience

  • A 3-year Diploma (NQF Level 6) in one of the following fields—or an equivalent NQF Level 6 qualification
    that matches a 3-year Diploma in these areas:
    ➢ Business Administration
    ➢ Finance Management
    ➢ Accounting
    ➢ or related field
  • 1 year experience in Administration in Grants Management or Finance

Advantageous

  • A Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7) in one of the following fields—or an equivalent NQF Level 7
    qualification that matches a Bachelor’s Degree in these areas:
    ➢ Business Administration
    ➢ Finance Management
    ➢ Accounting
    ➢ or related field
  • More than 1 year experience in Administration in Grants Management or Finance

  • Computer literacy with solid knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Database

Client Liaison Officers X2 (C4)
Reference Number: CLO/GN/11/11/25
Salary Level: 49 884,94 per month
FIXED-TERM CONTRACT: 24 MONTHS
Gauteng North Regional Offce

Purpose: To facilitate and implement the merSETA Client Services strategy to ensure that a high level of
client satisfaction is achieved, as well as to increase and improve the level of training and access to training in order to promote skills development and to redress imbalances.

Key Responsibilities
The ideal candidate should be able to fulfill and perform the following key responsibilities:

  • Guide and support companies to develop, implement and monitor mandatory grants.
  • Support enterprises to comply with merSETA quality assurance and workplace approval policy to
    meet SAQA requirements.
  • Manage, promote, and support participation in training partnerships and learning interventions
    according to set and agreed regional and individual targets.
  • Monitor all learning interventions to ensure continuous progress, guide and support employers
    where gaps have been identified.
  • Promote and support participation in merSETA project initiatives and services.
  • Plan and manage moderation of trade testing and assessments from time to time.
  • Support capacity building initiatives.
  • Compile reports
  • Identify support and market in the development of best practice kits and packs, sustainable
    community-based programmes including rural and farm areas, as well as providers where there is
    need.
  • Assist companies in all categories to claim mandatory grants.
  • Identify suitable companies to participate in discretionary grants as per prescribed criteria including
    but not limited to recommendation of discretionary grant funding and implementation of MoA’s.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A 3-year Diploma (NQF Level 6) in one of the following fields—or an equivalent NQF
    Level 6 qualification that matches a 3-year Diploma in these areas:
    ➢ Engineering Studies
    ➢ Business Studies
    ➢ Administration
    ➢ Project Management
    ➢ Human Resources
    ➢ Development/Training
    ➢ ODETD (Occupational Directed Education, Training and Development
    Practices) or related field
  • 4 years exposure in client liaison environment and be competent in any technical
    field related to manufacturing and engineering sector

Advantageous

  • A Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7) in one of the following fields—or an equivalent NQF
    Level 7 qualification that matches a Bachelor’s Degree in these areas:
    ➢ Engineering Studies
    ➢ Business Studies

  • Qualified Artisan
  • 5 years’ experience in a client liaison and technical environment with a solid direct training
