The company would like to recruit an Workshop Foreman to be based at Khanye Colliery in Bronkhorstspruit.
DESCRIPTION
The incumbent will play a key role in overseeing various TMM workshop jobs, with a focus on material expenses, safety and precision.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Grade 12 with valid trade test certificate – diesel mechanic
- At least five years proven experience in an engineering workshop with TMMs in a supervisory capacity, preferably in the mining environment
- Must be familiar with the Mine Health and Safety Act
- Excellent computer skills – Microsoft Office
- Valid driver’s licence
EXPERIENCE
- The candidate must have experience in manufacture/installations and should have at least five years’ experience working in a workshop as a manager
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist operation management in developing an operational plan for the year to support the process in achieving output objectives
- Undertake to plan the spares requirements according to the planned maintenance schedule and ensure the availability
- Liaise with operations daily, weekly and monthly on the progress plan, budget and employee resources
- Oversee that all work practices are executed in compliance with legal requirements
- Oversee the quality of workmanship and conduct regular inspections around the section and the operation
- Plan daily, weekly and monthly work requirements and priorities with the operational team
- Oversee that the required material, equipment, spares and staff are available to achieve the output
- Compile accurate reports
- Delegate responsibilities and projects to artisans
- Recruit, mentor, manage and train employees
- Develop and oversee quality standards
- Monitor and manage costs
- Ensure workshop standards are met as required by the DMPR at all times
- Enforce safety, health and environmental integrity principles applicable to area of responsibility
- Daily maintenance of workshop and office
