IT INFRASTRUCTURE SUPERINTENDENT
(D-LOWER PATTERSON GRADING)
Purpose of the Job:
To lead delivery, reliability and improvement
of IT services and infrastructure at ARM. The
IT Infrastructure Superintendent role
combines service desk leadership, IT
operations, cloud and hybrid infrastructure,
vendor governance, and customer
satisfaction; including technology services
from Cloud (Microsoft Azure, Oracle Cloud),
on-prem data centres to collaboration tools
(Phones, conference rooms, O365, etc) at
corporate offices and mine operations.
Location:
Sandton, Johannesburg
Job Requirements:
- 5+ years in IT Infrastructure, Operations,
and/or Service Delivery Management
roles. - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science,
IT, or related field. A postgrad degree will
be advantageous. - TIL v3/v4 Certification (Foundation or
higher). - Agile project management certification will
be a distinct advantage. - Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks
(ISO 27001, NIST) and Zero Trust
architecture. - Proven experience and deep
understanding of managing complex
hybrid infrastructure (Cloud/on-prem),
service desks. - Cloud certification (AWS, Azure, GCP,
Oracle, etc) - Strong experience with ITSM platforms,
endpoint compliance controls and
infrastructure monitoring tools. - Experience in managing vendors,
contracts, SLAs/OLAs, and performance
metrics.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage the infrastructure and
operations domain, including hybrid
environments (cloud & on-prem). - Ensure the infrastructure designs are
aligned with enterprise architecture and
cybersecurity frameworks (ISO 27001,
NIST). - Ensure that IT service delivery is
aligned with ITSM best practices, ie
end-to-end IT service delivery including
Incident, Problem, Change, and
Request Fulfilment processes are
executed. - Execute the modernization and
automation & AI strategies including
high availability, DR/BCP, and zero trust
security. - Monitor service delivery SLAs, KPIs,
and performance dashboards for
proactive service management. - Conduct regular service reviews with
business stakeholders and vendors to
drive continuous improvement.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB
- Responsible for safe installation of
underground support for the stabilisation
of hanging and side walls to avoid fall of
ground
REPORTS TO
- Miner
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Grade 10
- Have a valid Roofbolter licence /
certificate for machine - Recommended on psychological
assessment (Dover)
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
- At least minimum of 6 months confidential.
experience as an Operator: Roofbolter
will be an advantage.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct start of shift inspection of machine and
test breaks - Move machine to operating site
- Inspect his drilling equipment (Rods/ Bits)
- Inspect drill site i.e. Bar down loose rock
- Installing a water pump before any drilling
commence - Collar and drill rod on completion of the hole,
install grout rod and secure - Loading of resins, roofbolts, & flexi bolts
- Drilling of belts, pick tails and eye bolts
- Installation of flexibolts & physically assisting to
push into the hole - Physical part of flexibolts is strenuous compared
to other operators - Remove the machine to a safe place at the end
of the shift and park in a safe manner - Operate the machine
- Remove ignition key at the end of the shift
- Roofbolter end of shift procedure
- Reporting any breakdowns / Damages
- Maintaining good housekeeping in areas of
responsibility - Ad hoc duties e.g extension of service
pipes

- Computer literacy (MS Office; Delta)
- Valid Driver’s Licence

Perform pre- and post- use vehicle inspections

Conduct vehicle inspections and housekeeping.
Render support with ad hoc tasks.
Participate in change initiatives and provide
feedback on resistance
Obtain information, check for accuracy and capture
data. File documents per procedure.
Propose ideas or practical improvements relevant to
tasks. Participate in improvement initiatives.
