- Journey Orchestration & Strategy: Translate, design and implement marketing and commercial strategies into scalable, data-driven personalized customer journeys across multiple channels. (e.g., Email, SMS, WhatsApp/Push). Drive the automation of existing and new customer journeys.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor Deployment Specialists, ensuring campaigns are deployed within agreed-upon SLAs/Timeline with zero “Critical” errors. Drive up-skilling of the team including AMPscript proficiency and new platform features/functionalities.
- Technical Development: Build scalable, reusable technical assets. Maintain a “Modular Content Library” to reduce template build time and ensure campaigns use dynamic content blocks powered by AMPscript/SSJS. Develop and maintain REST/SOAP API integrations between Marketing Cloud and upstream data systems.
- Platform Health & Deliverability: Manage the technical stability and sender reputation, maintaining an industry-leading deliverability rate. Ensure 100% adherence to the final QA sign-off checklist and systematic cleanup of data extensions. Build and maintain campaign performance dashboards.
- Audience Activation: Oversee audience refinement and compliant suppression logic, including correct application of exclusion lists for POPIA compliance and frequency capping. Ensure zero delays in segment refreshes between Data Cloud and Marketing Cloud activation.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Competencies
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
- A Salesforce Marketing Cloud Consultant or Developer Certification is required.
- Minimum 5–8 years total career experience in Direct and Digital Marketing or MarTech.
- 3-5 years hands-on experience in Salesforce Marketing Cloud at an enterprise level.
- Proven experience managing a technical team or acting as a lead in a complex campaign environment.
- Deep expertise in advanced technical languages: AMPscript, SQL (Marketing Cloud flavor), HTML, and CSS. (SSJS knowledge is a bonus).
- Expert-level knowledge of Journey Builder, Automation Studio, and CloudPages.
- Proficiency in Deliverability Management, including SAP (Sender Authentication Package) and IP Warming.
- Experience working within an Agile/Sprint-based workflow.
