SENIOR HISTORY TEACHER

The successful candidate will be a reflective and creative educator who prioritises focused teaching of core skills, embraces authentic learning and engages with the world beyond the classroom.

The successful candidate will:

  • cultivate a passion for History through engaging, imaginative and purposeful teaching.
  • be a committed, dynamic, innovative and experienced History educator with at least five years’ experience.
  • have proven experience teaching History in the FET phase, ideally through to Grade 12 and have the
  • ability to take on leadership and mentorship roles within the subject.
  • have familiarity with the IEB and Cambridge curricula, and experience in NSC marking will be regarded as strong advantages.
  • be registered with SACE and hold an appropriate university degree and professional qualification.
  • have excellent interpersonal skills with colleagues, pupils and parents.
  • demonstrate strong organisational and classroom management skills.
  • embrace and contribute to the unique teaching partnership between St Andrew’s College and The Diocesan School for Girls.
  • engage fully in school life, including extra-curricular and pastoral activities.
  • support and uphold the Christian ethos of the school.

INFORMATIONATION TECHNOLOGY (School Governing Body Position – Possible DOE Position)

Start date: Term Four 2026

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors’ degree with Computer Science and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education
  • An honours degree will be an advantage
  • SACE registered
  • Other appropriate qualifications will be considered

EXPERIENCE:

  • At least three years’ teaching experience of Information Technology to Grade Twelve

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Teaching Information Technology to Grades 10 to 12
  • Teaching of Digital Technology Grades 8 and 9
  • Subject Head: Information Technology
  • Drive innovation in line with the digital technology strategy
