Job Purpose

Responsible for providing specialist, high-level technical advice and support for all aspects of the day-to-day operation of the business unit’s networks (data, voice, text, email, facsimile and image) including the resolution of network problems, production of network performance statistics, provision of network diagnostic information, network security, and site surveys and repairs in accordance with IT policy and standards.

Education

  • IT Related Diploma or NQF Level 6 qualification
  • CCNA – Routing and Switching
  • ITIL Certification
  • MCSE SharePoint is an advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum of 4 years relevant IT industry experience
  • Specialized technical experience and a proven technical background.

  • Requires specialised knowledge of techniques, equipment and processes relating to IT practices, equipment, applications.

  • Refers problems falling outside parameters to the manager for resolution.

Certifications/Accreditation/Registration/Licenses

  • Meet all requirements for a gaming license.
  • Gaming Regulations / FICA regulations

Work Condition & Special Requirements

  • Ability to work shifts that meet operational requirements.
  • Physically able to move around as per job requirements (including with the use of aids)
  • Ability to travel locally.
  • May be required to work overtime in line with operational requirements.

Key Performance Areas

Unit Network Routing and Switching Plan

  • Understand and provide input to the IT business plan.
  • Align Technical direction (equipment) to Group IT objectives.
  • Develop plans for the network routing and switching road map for the business unit.
  • Compile project plans and milestones for the implementation of components and systems.
  • Align the Business unit data centre with Group requirements.
  • Communicate to relevant stakeholders in IT and the business with regards the server and storage virtualisation plans for the business unit.

Software Asset & Configuration Management

  • Consult with stakeholders and obtain sign off on system changes.
  • Approve and plan changes or configuration requirements.
  • Monitor process to ensure no unapproved changes are made.
  • Identify issues and challenges with software configuration.
  • Identify risk areas.
  • Conduct quality assurance on work performed.
  • Project manage changes.
  • Conduct post implementation reviews.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Communicate on IT policies and SOP’s to all end-users.
  • Provide updates to users on changes to IT policies and processes.
  • Elicit requirements and challenges being faced by stakeholders with regards the network routing and switching environment.
  • Plan and provide solutions to requirements identified.
  • Provide feedback to stakeholders with regards implementation.
