Global Operations serve as trusted partners to our internal business clients. Our team maintains strong partnerships across the Global Operations organization and with our matrixed partners in Legal and Compliance, Global Technology and Data & Analytics. We have a dynamic blend of industry experience, Operations and compliance expertise. Team members are strong problem-solvers and project managers, and we encourage development and recognition for good work.
This role will lead the Global Dispute function that supports regulatory processes at an international level. This role will be to share best practices, monitor performance, manage cost and ensure regulatory guidelines are met at a regional level.
What You’ll Bring:
This is a remote position, working SA hours with some overlap to the US dependent on business needs.
The individual in this role will be responsible for coordinating with the applicable regional resources in understanding the local and state regulations to follow in order to manage the delivery of disputes in the various geographical locations. This individual will also coordinate and will have resources located in various geographical locations that will directly/indirectly report to them to align on dispute performance, enhancements and monitoring.
- Bachelor’s degree and 15+ years’ experience in the financial services industry in roles such as Operations, Contact Center, Regulatory Process Management or similar
- Experience navigating a highly matrixed organization
- Experience working with multiple time zones and cultures
- Excellent written and oral communications skills, with the ability to effectively interface with senior management and external entities
- People management skills, strong leadership, influencing, and relationship-building skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and a results-oriented mindset
- Pragmatic and practical mindset, with experience in thinking creatively and innovatively while managing Operations
- Strong project management skills and comfort with organizing and managing multiple priorities and deadlines concurrently
- You are proactive, take the initiative, and can work independently with little to no supervision
- Experience in evaluating the marketing of consumer financial services preferred
- Partner with internal business clients to help innovate creatively in ways that benefit consumers and streamline processes
- Develop relationships with internal business clients, peers in Operations, and key stakeholders in Global Technology, Data & Analytics, to effectively navigate a highly matrixed corporate environment
- Lead the team is identifying technical opportunities to improve processes, reduce cost and improve the consumer experience
- Effectively manage and support the team, ensuring completion of projects, initiatives, goals and other strategic priorities
- Effectively coach and mentor the team, developing talent and creating opportunities for growth

Senior Manager, Compliance

The Senior Compliance Manager has responsibility for the development and overseeing of the
compliance function for all TransUnion entities in Africa. This includes ensuring a compliance framework
with appropriate compliance monitoring, inter alia, in accordance with relevant laws and regulations
applicable in these regions, incl. credit bureau and data privacy laws and regulations.
What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in business, pre-law or law, risk management or related field with minimum of 5+ years work experience in a compliance related field, with demonstrated managerial experience.
- Experience of leading a Compliance Team or other Assurance team a credit bureau or financial services industry
- Experience of being the representative of the business, to customers, regulators, and other interested 3rd parties
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with a variety of technical and non-technical business stakeholders at all levels
- Effective in communicating verbally and in writing, with consideration to the intended audience
- Methodical, thorough and diligent, with strong attention to detail and strong documentation and report writing and presentation skills
- Strong planning, organisational, and time management skills to manage and lead multiple priorities and work to deadlines with multiple deliverables
- Strong analytical, technical and problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions
- Passion for keeping up to date with emerging legislation and regulation
- Passion for leading and driving change within the team and wider
Impact You’ll Make:
Compliance Programme Management
- Ensure all compliance programmes are documented and implemented with the required supporting procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Oversee and manage the compliance risk assessment process including control validation activities and act as a second line of defense to provide an independent oversight of the risk management activities performed by first line of defense.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of business unit processes and other controls that exist to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
- Ensure that TransUnion operations are monitored and audited, incl. systems in place to detect compliance violations in high-risk, transactional activities, red flag indicators and metrics for compliance risks.
- Own and manage critical projects including regulatory change management and regulatory engagement. This includes liaising with stakeholders and ensuring the regulatory change management process is executed in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with business units to perform periodic reviews of compliance effectiveness.
- Create compliance awareness and training programs across the organization.
Compliance Advisory
- Advise business stakeholders on compliance requirements and controls for all Africa regions.
- Develop compliance guidelines, processes and procedures for the various business units through collaboration with business unit leadership.
- Negotiate and influence matters affecting the compliance team within the Africa operations.
- Engage with senior management to support strategic goals, plans and objectives for the organization.
- Analyze, address and resolve compliance issues.
- Provide oversight and support on compliance related matters.
- Ensure processes and other controls exist with the business to enforce compliance with laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
- Support internal data privacy compliance reviews, where required under local laws and regulations.
- Participate with the business unit in self-assessments/audits, incl. data privacy and compliance-related assessments and other reviews.
General
- Liaise with the regional regulators on all compliance matters relevant to the organisation and credit bureau industry as a whole.
- Compile and submit compliance-related reports to the various regulators, as and when required.
- Regularly report to regional and international executives on all compliance related matters.
- Work closely with internal audit team on the audit findings and observations.
- Work closely with Head of stakeholder Engagement on regulatory issues and updates.
- Lead and participate in compliance related system and operations development projects.
- Collaborate with the Legal and Corporate Investigations departments on all joint or related matters.
- Lead, motivate and empower staff in order to reach organisational and team goals.
- Respond to compliance and due diligence questionnaires from clients & prospects.
- Work closely with strategic business units, incl. IT, Legal, Information Security, Sales, Product, and Internal Audit.
- Represent TransUnion at all relevant industry forums (e.g. Credit Bureau Association in South Africa) from a compliance perspective.
- Ensure compliance with the requirements of the global Business Continuity and Issues Management programmes.
- Assist with Board Governance and company secretarial duties.
This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.
